Architecture is becoming much more complicated, parameterized, high-tech, alien-like.
Instead of walking far away from the origins and the nature, we let it grow itself and go back to the original, to the era that just belongs to us and our sense organs.
This is it.
By peeling up the original turf from the ground, a cozy platform is created on which people could step, sit, and lie down. The turf surface does not only direct the ground towards the sunlight, but it also shifts the natural material, grass, to become furniture, sculpture and landscape.
Seesaw A Seesaw, is the project collaborate with Ashley Kratzke that is about people relationship. The seesaw provides a little game on it is to keep the bar siding on the rail and away from the ends with magnet inside. In addition, a big arch bottom also slow down the seesaw movement.

Mr. Elliott Earls needs a new studio in the woods when he work from far home on the banks of Lake Leelanau. The disruption is minimized to natural life and this studio is kept partially ‘invisible’ (or ‘floating’ visually). Besides the functionality, charred cedar and mirrored glass are used for the facade. Back to the architecture itself, the studio is ready to engage with the artist from the inside out as well.
The project Twist Door is based on the research of the relationship between spaces. The function of twist door is not only for opening or closing, but also for filtering. The twist movement turns the door into an in-between position, I call this the “semi-closed” t “semi-open” position, or vice verse.
